Greene County 4-H members once again demonstrated what they’ve learned in a wide variety of project areas with their exhibits at the Greene County Fair, held July 12-18.
The Clothing event was held Tuesday, July 12. Thirteen exhibitors participated in the event, which was judged by Meri Vos of Waukee. Youth participants also showcased their projects in the 4-H fashion show held Friday.
The show was organized by clothing superintendent Heidi Hunter.

Participants in Clover Kids Fashion were Clarissa Richards, Avril Shahan, Becca Shahan, Riah Riphagen, Stella Lautner, Elaina Stephenson and Jentry Hedges.
The 4-H Dog Agility Show was held on Tuesday, July 12, with the 4-H Dog Obedience and Showmanship Show held on Wednesday, July 13. McKenzie Von Retzell of Ames judged the dog agility show, Brooke Nemec of Fairfax judged obedience, and Haley Ledford of Des Moines, judged handling/showmanship and rally. The shows were organized by dog superintendent Rachel Reece and youth superintendent Treynor Cose.

The Communications at the Fair program took place Friday, July 15. There were two participants in the working exhibit category and two in a new event this year, Pride of Iowa. The event was judged by Barb Sexton and the contest was coordinated by communications superintendent Yvette Bardole.
In working exhibits, Bailey and Becca Anderson earned a purple ribbon and qualified for the State Fair with their fire safety exhibit. Ella Tasler and Kaliyah Minnihan earned a blue ribbon and will go to the Clay County Fair with their corn salsa exhibit.
In other communication events, Becca Anderson and Bailey Anderson, Greenbrier, earned purple ribbons and were selected for the State Fair with their posters. Ruby Tasler (Cedar Highland) and Ella Ostrander (Junction Food Producers) earned blue ribbons in table setting. They were selected for the southwest table setting competition.
The 4-H and FFA Poultry Show was held Wednesday, July 13. It was judged by AJ Dickinson of Humboldt. The show was coordinated by poultry superintendents Amanda McDonough and Melissa Frederick and Junior superintendent Shailynne Woodley.
